It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gary Dale Sumpter of Charles Town, West Virginia, who passed away on March 10, 2025, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Sumpter Jr. (Buck) and Reba Sue Sumpter; and his son Jeremy Sumpter. He is survived by: his wife Kandy Sumpter; his children, Bekki Daugherty (Kory) of Ocala, FL and Kyle Sumpter (Rebecca) of Simpsonville, SC; his grandchildren, Chloe, Caleb, Cooper, Kohlter and Rayna; his stepgrandchildren, Ethan, Elyah, William, Lonnie and Emma; his brother Terry Sumpter (Melanie) of Rohrersville, MD.; his niece Katie; and his nephew Kenton.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home (310 S Fairfax Blvd, Ranson, WV 25438). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Gary's name to the Wounded Warrior Project, 1120 G Street NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20005, to support our nation's veterans.
