He was predeceased by : his parents, Leonard Payne and Olive Payne; his grandparents, Wilson, Hattie Riddle Conley and John Payne; and his brothers, Leonard Payne Jr. and Lawrence Payne.
He is survived by : his children, Debbie Payne and John Payne Jr.; his siblings, Judy Payne, Linda Lloyd, Sue White (Delbert), Alvin Payne (Katie), David Payne (Dora), James "Bo" Payne and Lonnie Payne (Patricia); and his grandchildren, Crystal Payne and Joshua Payne. He is also survived by two great grandchildren.
