He is survived by: his wife Emma Jean Carter Mendez; his children, Melissa Mendez (Martin Begnal), Andrena Mendez, Jina Martin (Jim), John Mendez (Corey) and Micky Mendez (Rachel); his siblings, Maria Brewer, Linda Lambert, Anita Amburgey, Gloria Chambers, Diana Mendez, Margarita Shell, Emelia Spencer, Juanita Lanham, Vince Mendez and Ray Mendez; his grandchildren, Madeline, Ryder, Ella, Freya, Ian, Quinn, Harper and Rose; his son Rocky Mendez; his sons-in-law, Marty Begnal and Jim Martin; his grandson Chandler Begnal; and his brother Marty Mendez.
