He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Arnold Smith and Bonnie Silva Bays of Virginia; and his brother Dean Silva. He is survived by: his daughters, Kaitlyn (Keith Wittkorn), Meagan (James Bogner) and Brianna (Chris Fournet); his siblings, Cindy Rupart, Ruth Broadnax, Mary Bays and Hal Ord; and his grandchildren, Christopher Maynard, Trinity Johnston, Gabriel Johnston, Laniegrace Johnston, Emma Bogner, Bryson Fournet, Keira Wittkorn and Adilin Wittkorn.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Freeman Funeral Home to help with arrangements.
