He was predeceased by: his father Gene Edward; his parents-in-law, Pete and Mary Walters; and his brothers-in-law, John Howard, Rodney Blatt and Paul Walters.
He is survived by: his mother Elizabeth Lillibridge Swain; his wife Joyce "Joy" Swain of Ceredo, WV; his sons, Joseph Swain (Ashley) of Huntington and Matthew Swain of Ceredo, WV; his sisters, Bonnie Trader (Jim) of Ona, WV and Tammie Distel (Phillip) of Ona, WV; his sisters-in-law, Karen Howard of Florida, Vickie Blatt Norman (Bill) of Scott Depot, WV, Sharon Turley (Wayne) of Ceredo, WV and Sherry Hibbard Walters of Huntington, WV.; and his grandchildren, Emily, Iliana, Kelsey, Kailyn, Aiden and Aliyah.
