He was predeceased by: his parents, John Crews and Faye Crews; and his nephew Eddie Slate, Jr.. He is survived by: his sisters, Beverly Shamblin (Scott) and Sandra Slate (Eddie); his niece Ashley Slate; his nephew Zach Shamblin; his great-niece Ella Slate; and his pets, Max and Moe.
