He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis Nelson and Hartzel Nelson of Ward; his siblings, Nicky Nelson and Betty Lawrence; and his nephew Jerry Hunley (PF).
He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Crede (Kevin), Maddy Palmer of Charleston and Tommy Nelson (Kristina) of Hugheston; his granddaughters, Ally and Maisy Nelson; his sisters, Marvolene Hunley of London and Mona Gray of Cedar Grove; his nieces, Tammy Gwinn and Jeannie Pennington of Powelton; and his nephew Bill Hunley of Montgomery. He is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
