He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Bess and Nancy Lee Jett Bess. He is survived by: his wife Nora M. Withrow Bess; his children, John Bess (Angela), Amanda Harless (George) and Carrie Webb (Ronnie); and his uncle Lowell Bess. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
