He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Powell and Opal Gillis Brown. He is survived by: his wife Elsie Sherman Powell; his children, James Edward Powell (Cara) of Maryland, Blair Lynn Powell (Debi Nash) of Seven Valleys, PA and Christine Tate (Barry) of Florence, AL; and his sisters, Linda Brown, Janie Johnson, Angie Puller (Eddie) and Kay Tillery (Doug). He is also survived by 2 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
