“Doug and I were friends. We talked a lot and he always teased me about being a Democrat. He kept an eye on Aimee, whom we called our ‘wayward daughter.’ I didn’t get to see him much as I live in Wheeling. The day he died, he told me he was going to have a procedure and they were doing it then. We never got to text again. I will miss him immensely. My condolences to the family and to Ratty.”
