She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Birk and Edna May Ellifritz (Catlett); her husband James N. Clayton; her stepdaughter Tammy Splawn; her grandson Timothy John Clayton; her siblings, Judith Reynolds, Juanita Whittaker, Betty Couch, Mary Canan, Bonnie Jenkins, William Ellifritz, Harold "Pete" Ellifritz, Samuel Ellifritz, James Ellifritz, Fred Ellifritz and Robert Ellifritz; and her stepsiblings, Harry Ellifritz, Jr., George Ellifritz and Violet Devilbliss.
She is survived by: her sons, James C. Clayton (Diana) of Burlington, Timothy A. Clayton (Denise) of Burlington and Michel "Steve" Clayton (Teresa "Tweet") of Burlington; her stepdaughters, Lynette Buckley (Randy) of Romney, WV and E'lese Spaid of Georgia; her sisters, Lois Rohrbaugh of Keyser and Patsy High of Purgitsville, WV; and her caregivers, Ruby Kitzmiller, Stephanie Holdren, Anita Eye, Haleigh Welch and Rachel Kisamore. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; four step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
