He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur "Toots" Amtower and Kathleen Amtower (Roberts); his granddaughter Brianna Rae Shaffer (Custer); his parents-in-law, Charles Shreve and Edith Shreve (Haslacker) of Virginia; and his brother-in-law Orville Roy Shoemaker.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta Jean Amtower (Shreve) of Burlington; his daughters, Petula Staggs (Kevin) and Tiffney Aspedon (Tye); his grandchildren, Kirstin Custer, Morgan Custer and Logan Staggs (Emma); his grandson-in-law Levi Shaffer; his great grandchild Claire Rae Shaffer; his sisters, Janet Shoemaker and Dixie Riggleman (Butch); and his brothers-in-law, Darl Shreve (Brenda) and Kevin Shreve (Judy). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
