Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Charlie Winfree of Burlington, West Virginia, born in Coral Gables, Florida, who passed away at the age of 71, on November 3, 2021. He was predeceased by: his parents, C. Van Winfree and Dorothy Winfree of Longboat Key; and his brother Arthur T. Winfree. He is survived by: his siblings, Robert A. Winfree of Anchorage and Phyllis D. W. Laidre of Saratoga Springs; and his nieces and nephews, Rachael, Erik Winfree, Kyle Winfree, Kristin and Mark Laidre.

“We are very sorry to learn of Charlie Winfree's passing. He was not only our friend but the inspiration for us to experience mountain living. He was special to us, always available to help two city folk survive in wild, wonderful West Virginia. We came full circle with Charlie when illness struck our family and we had to sell our beloved weekend home after 21 years. Charlie found a buyer and helped us settle the property at a very difficult time. May he rest in peace. Bill & Marsha Romano”
