Sylvia M. Smith Obituary

We bid farewell to Sylvia M. Smith of Bunker Hill, West Virginia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 31, 2025 at the age of 82. Sylvia touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer W. Keesecker and Alice D. Kerrick Keesecker; her husband James D. Smith; her daughter Lisa Weller; and her siblings, Homer William Keesecker, Jr., Jeffrey A. Keesecker, Scott M. Keesecker, Rose M. Wampler, Vickie L. Mason and Eileen A. Braithwaite.

She is survived by: her son James K. "Colonel" Smith; her grandchildren, Tabitha Rude (Kirk), Cody Hess, Chris Hess, Teather Stotelmyer (Matt) and Taylor Smith; her great grandchildren, Brayden Hess, Gracie Hess of Alexander, Barrett, Zaide Tussing, Preston and Braxton Stotelmyer; and her sisters, Irene M. Ponton, Faye A. Laign and Carol V. Cloud.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Grace Reformed United Church of Christ (421 Kearneysville Pike, Kearneysville, WV 25430).
