He was predeceased by: his parents, Mack Gent, Sr. and Georgia Combs Gent; and his sister Carol L. Luttrell. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ferguson Gent; his children, Wendy G. Langhorne, Dana L. Dembeck (Jay), Elizabeth A. Bragg (Daniel) and Robert "Bobby" Hawkins (Stephanie); his former wife Carol L. Kirby; his sisters, Linda A. Gent and Wanda J. Herbert; his grandchildren, Anthony, Zachary Langhorne (Stephanie), Kasee Sheehan (John), Caleb Dembeck (Margaret), Cody Bragg, Reagan and Indie Hawkins; his great grandchildren, Colby, Scarlett, John John and Colt; and his pet Dolly.
In lieu of flowers, Jackie wished to have donations to Bunker Hill Brethren in Christ for Sunday School or Vacation Bible School or Hospice of the Panhandle.
