He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie A. Vaughn and Helen Harlow Vaughn; and his siblings, Archie Vaughn Jr., Bobby Eugene Vaughn and Nadine N. Vaughn.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Lynn Vaughn; his sisters, Sharon Stutler and Karen Casto (Keith); his niece Tammy Warner (Mark); his adoptive son Michael Fritz; and his sister-in-law Joyce Vaughn of Red House.
