He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil W. Woofter and Alice Maude Woofter (Day); his sister Hester Jane Gaston; his niece Marie Gaston; his nephews, Timothy and Christopher Woofter; and his siblings-in-law, Paul Rife, Ross Moore and Grace Woofter.
He is survived by: his wife Candice Woofter (King); his son Virgil (Jen Woofter) of Jacksonville, FL; his grandson Eric Woofter of Orlando, FL.; his siblings, George Wayne Woofter of Porter Falls, Brenice Ilene Nichols (Greg) of Shinnston, Joyce Elaine Moore of Wallace and Julia Diana Rife of Shinnston; his foster sister Doris Ann Atkins of Shinnston; and his brother-in-law Stanley Gaston (Marlene) of Wyatt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
