He is survived by: his wife Gaye Harlow Matthews; his children, Donnie Joe Matthews II (Lee Ann), William Lee "Bill" Matthews (Melody) and Melissa Gaye Burch (Mitchell) of Buffalo; his grandchildren, Jacob Matthews (Madison), Hannah Matthews and Cali Smith (Preston); his great grandchild Jase Matthews; his stepgrandchildren, Meagan Flores (Leo) and Andrew Burch (Jessica); and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Kohen, Shiloh, Jaunie, Sparrow and Goldie.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Buffalo Church of God Building Fund, P.O. Box 285, Buffalo WV 25033.
