With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Janet Carol Overfield of Buckhannon, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 5, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Harper and Thelma Snyder Harper; and her son Jason Overfield. She is survived by: her husband James Overfield of Buckhannon; her children, Derek Overfield (Lauren Adams) of Fairmont, WV, Carla Cosner (Chris) of Glenville, WV, Cindy Hardman (Shawn) of Buckhannon and Jamie Riffle (Jamie) of Morgantown; her grandchildren, Jerrad Riffle (Ginny) of Buckhannon, Joshua Riffle (Kayla) of Bridgeport, WV, Jase Riffle of Morgantown, Tanner Hardman (Victoria Epp) of Buckhannon, Jessica Brockleman (Luke) of Buckhannon, Kristen Cosner of Fairmont and Kylie Cosner of Glenville; her great grandchildren, Jackson Riffle, Layne Brockleman and Jensen Riffle; and her siblings, Fred Harper of Biloxi, MS, Terry Harper (Anna Mae) of Grafton, WV and Margaret Caynor (Denver) of Buckhannon. She is also survived by several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Sand Run Baptist Church (2272 Vegan Rd, Buckhannon, WV 26201). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
