He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Linger and Marie Linger of Buckhannon; and his siblings, James and Wava Snyder (Nelson). He is survived by: his wife Patricia Anne Starkey (Tetty); his children, David (Kim), Donald (Cathy), Danny, Alice Alkire (Dallas), Darrell (Michelle) and Jeanan Hoover (Jerry); his grandchildren, Kristopher Linger (Jess), Kacey Massey (Jeff), Derek Alkire (Linsey), Holly Morgan (Lucas), Nathaniel Linger (Lorilyn), Kirsten Linger, Kayla Linger, Jordan Hoover and Cole Hoover; and his sister Carol Ann Armstrong (Ken). He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel (940 WV-20, Buckhannon, WV 26201). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at 3202 State Hwy 20, New Martinsville, WV 26155.
