He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Ovid and Anna Bell Simmons Lane; his stepson Joseph W. Richards; his grandparents, Jack Carpenter and Gilsie Russell Carpenter Tenney; and his brother Terry Lane.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta Ables-Lane; his stepdaughters, Samantha L. Garrison (Termaine Cottingham) of Fairmont, WV and Tracey Eckles of Fairmont, WV; his stepgrandchildren, Kaylie Richards of Buckhannon, Anya Garrison of Fairmont, Antonio Garrison of Fairmont and Tayvon Cottingham of Fairmont; and his siblings, Richard Lane of McKeesport, PA, David Lane of French Creek, Brenda Bowery (Brian) of Lexington, KY, Sandra Robinson of Elkins, WV and Barbara McCartney (Chris) of Webster Springs, WV. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home (95 S Kanawha St, Buckhannon, WV 26201). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
