With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Cara Sue Sommerville (Buckhannon, West Virginia), who passed away on January 11, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Carl and Marvell Virginia Bailey Alfred; her husband Wayne Carroll Sommerville; and her son David Wayne Sommerville. She is survived by: her daughters, Connie (Bill Painter) of Buckhannon and Donna (Rick Smith) of Buckhannon; her daughter-in-law Brenda Sommerville Schall of Elderton, PA; her grandchildren, William "BJ" Painter (Kayla) of Morgantown, Chris Sommerville (Heather) of Springfield, NE, Deidre Nicole Painter Holcomb of Clarksburg, Londes "Buck" Davis (Lori) of Bristol, TN, Angela Sommerville Miller (Jeremy) of Elderton, PA and Chad Smith (Erin) of Buckhannon; her brothers, Ronnie Alfred (Vicky) of Pearisburg, VA and Gary Alfred (Kathryn) of Belmont, WV; and her sister-in-law Louise Sommerville of Warriors Mark, PA. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel (940 WV-20, Buckhannon, WV 26201). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
