He is survived by: his wife Dorothy M. Wise Reckart; his children, Herbert G. Reckart, Jr. of Bruceton Mills, Betty L. Ingram, Michael Short of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, John H. Reckart and Donna Duncan of Mantua, OH; his grandchildren, James D. Ingram of Cuyahoga Falls, Thomas J. Jacobs of Theresa, NY and Makayla L. Jacobs of Cuyahoga Falls; and his brothers, Harlan (Onilee Reckart) and Floyd (Nancy Reckart). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
