He was predeceased by: his parents, Jordan Ashley and Macel Hyer Ashley; his former wife Edith Ashley; and his siblings, Ruth Parsons and Charles Ashley.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Joanne Olean of Bridgeport; his daughter Pam Burgess (Jerry) of Bridgeport; his grandchildren, David Burgess (Jennifer) of Morgantown and Micah Burgess (Jane) of Astoria, NY; his great grandchildren, Sam, Charlie and Pete; his brother Lewis Ashley (Linda) of Alexandria, VA; and his nephew Ken Apple (Debbie) of Bradenton, FL..
