He was predeceased by: his former wife Bertha Mae Lewis Dodd; and his brother-in-law Warren J. Ling. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ann Bartlett Dodd; his son William Richard Dodd (Kim) of Horner, WV; his grandson Seth Richard Dodd of Lake Charles; his stepson Steven J. Schweinebraten of Clarksburg; his stepgranddaughters, Lisa Darby of Weston and Haley Biller of Sand Fork; and his sister Mary D. Ling of Amhurst.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Peoples Hospice 325 Medical Park Drive, Bridgeport, WV 26330; or Simpson Creek Baptist Church Missionary Fund, 231 W. Philadelphia Avenue, Bridgeport, WV 26330 Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Monday from 6 – 8 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018, with Dr. C. Michael Hopkins presiding.
