He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Tichenor and Hazel McDaniel Tichenor; his wife Joyce E. McIntyre Tichenor; his son Rusty Lee Tichenor, Jr.; his adoptive son Brian Scott Poling; and his sister Joyce Elbon.
He is survived by: his daughter Lova Marie Yanero (Bobby); his stepdaughters, Teresa Ann Miller (Brad) and Tammy Moran Cottrill; his grandchildren, Haley Stealey, Devin Moran-Hosaflook, Destiny Paugh, Jesse Miller and Nycki Jaros; his siblings, Bill Tichenor (Sheila) and Brenda Wolfe (Richard) of Enterprise; his brother-in-law Fred Elbon; and his close friends, John Abruzzino and Lois Wright. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
