With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rita Hammond of Bridgeport, West Virginia, born in Reedy, West Virginia, who passed away on July 5, 2021 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Fore and Nellie Fore; her husband William C. "Bill" Hammond; her grandson Daniel Hammond; and her sisters, Jean Hereford and Ruth Simons.
She is survived by: her sons, Charles C. Hammond of Bridgeport and Robert "Bob" Hammond (Susan) of Loris, SC; her grandchildren, Ann Hammond (Henry Williams), Jessie Kimball (Josh) and Thomas Aichele; and her great grandchildren, Madison, Mackenzie, Elijah and ZaKya. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.
