He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Amos and Della Mae Glaspell (Tucker); his former wife Doris Rae Glaspell (Rutherford); his son-in-law David Wayne Swiger; his siblings, James "Jim" Glaspell, Charles "Bud" Glaspell, Harvey "June" Glaspell, Clarence "Gene" Glaspell, Silas "Si" Glaspell, Howard H. Glaspell, Ruby Furbee, Betty Saunders, Annie Hayhurst and Mary Ruth Glaspell; and his sister-in-law Sally Rutherford.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Glaspell (Snyder); his children, Rick Glaspell (Janet) and Tammy Swiger of Flemington, WV; his grandson Travis Swiger (Logan); his stepgrandson Alec Hunter Davis of Grafton, WV; his granddaughter Sarah Young (Colton) of Morgantown, WV; his great grandchildren, Camden Rhett Swiger and Judah David Young; and his brother-in-law Jack Rutherford.
After Earl was hospitalized with Covid-19, he contacted others to make sure they were taking precautions of wearing a mask and social distancing.
