He is survived by: his wife Betty McClung McVaney; his children, David McVaney (Londa) of Stonewood and Susan Dahmer (John) of Fairfax, VA; his daughter-in-law Jenny McVaney of Bridgeport; his grandchildren, Stephanie Dahmer (Lee Brewer), Jennifer Beyreuther, Kristy Cunningham (Rocco), Justin McVaney (Catherine) and Allison Mathis (Rob); and his great grandchildren, Ella Rose, Miles, Alyssa, Katelyn, Lauren, Jeffery Michael, Abigail, Audrey and Wyatt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
