Starkey and Effie Mae Dennison Starkey; his former wife Ruthanne Townsend Starkey; his daughter Julie Anne Cheshire; his wife Karen Roberts Starkey; his son Adam Starkey (Donna) of Bridgeport; his son-in-law Robert Cheshire of Greenwood, IN; his stepsons, Joshua Roberts (Jessica) of Chattanooga, TN and Jeffrey Roberts (Michelle); and his brother Paul James Glen McGee.
