He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Marks and Delma Faye Lauderman Marks; his wife Mary Gay Romano Marks; his siblings, Raymond "Dick" Marks, Robert Marks, Jackie Marks, Betty Beto, Judy Ayoob and Patty Marks; and his granddaughter Ashley Yankosky.
He is survived by: his children, Carol Ann Anderson (Richard) of Bridgeport, John Lewis Marks Jr. (Linda) of Bridgeport and Tina Marie Yankosky (Dwight) of Bridgeport; his grandchildren, Christopher Anderson (Leigh), John Anderson (Allison), Alyssa Skasik (Drew), Kristin Hebert (Kaleb), Wendy Riffle (Terry), Sam Marks (Lara), Scott Marks (Jennifer) and Malaki Marks; his great grandchildren, Lydia, Owen Anderson, Evan, Emily Anderson, Patrick John Skasik, Liam, Arlo, Narissa Marks and Hebert; his brother James C. Marks (Karen) of Bridgeport; his aunt Josephine Lauderman; and his siblings-in-law, Nancy Marks of Bridgeport, Mary Marks of Myrtle Beach, Thomas Ayoob of Bridgeport and Carmen Romano (Mary Ann) of Clarksburg. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
