He was predeceased by: his father Glenn Marshall Cox, Sr.; his great grandchild Warren Elliott; his stepdaughter Kimberly Jo Cody; and his grandparents, Lloyd Waitman, Icy Belle Mayfield Morgan, William Calvin and Faye Johnson Cox.
He is survived by: his mother Betty Jean Cox (Morgan); his wife Shelley L. Cox (Bunch); his children, Edward L. Cox, Jr. (Janie), Phillip D. Cox (Cindy) and Heidi E. Cox; his stepdaughter Kelly Jo Cody; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Nicole Cox Elliott, Morgan of Virginia, Jerry Marshall, Courtney Elizabeth, Kimberly Rosalee Cox, Draven Xavier, Arabella Josephine Cruz, Ada Elizabeth, Madison Laurestine Workman and Willow Grace Knotts; and his siblings, Glenn M. Cox, Jr. (Savannah) and Cynthia Cox Cleland. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and countless cousins.
