It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dana Bates of Bridgeport, West Virginia, born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, who passed away on September 23, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, C. Conrad Hurst and Gertrude McMahan Hurst (Trudy); her husband Robert J. Bates; her brother Conrad C. Hurst II; and her stepgrandson Auston Morris.
She is survived by: her daughters, Trudy Bates Doolittle (Don Doolittle) of Lancaster, PA and Holly Bates Morris (Steve Morris) of Bridgeport, WV; her grandchildren, Zachary Henry of Morgantown, Megan Doolittle Teramura (Zachary Teramura) of Forest, VA and Joey Doolittle of Lancaster, PA; her stepgrandsons, Tyler Morris of Lockhaven, PA and Houston Morris of Anchorage, AK; and her brothers, S. Robert Hurst (Romana Hurst) of San Antonio, TX and E. Gordon Hurst of Summertown, TN.
