He is survived by: his parent Laura Ann Channell (Carpenter); his spouse Dorothy Gay Lowther; his children, Louise Hissam (Dannie), Bridgeport, Lawrence "Larry" Channell (Mary Kay), Wheeling, Carolyn Wetzel (Martin), Jimmie Channell (Marlene) and Fairmont; his daughter-in-law Robin Channell of Elm Grove, WV; and his grandchildren, Cheryl Davidson (Daniel), Lisa Hissam Stout (Lowell Thomas Stout), Jason Hissam (Robin), Cynthia Channell Harris (Alan), Stephanie Channell, Derek Channell (Jackie), Zachary Channell, Jesse Channell, Natalie Wetzel, Ashley Wetzel Kyle (Brandon), Matt Channell and Jeremy Channell.
