With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vergie Mae Cartwright of Brandywine, West Virginia, born in Richwood, West Virginia, who passed away on February 15, 2022 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arbor Hanna and Verna Hanna (McClung) of Virginia; her husband John Pershing "Purge" Cartwright; and her siblings, Richard, Roger Hanna and Nancy McCutcheon.
She is survived by: her daughters, Deborah Hanna of Ft. Seybert, WV and Brenda Jackson of Summersville, WV; and her stepchildren, Phyllis Hurt, Darrell Cartwright of Sumersville, WV and Basil "Darvin" Cartwright (Mary) of Sumersville, WV. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great-grandchildren.
