He was predeceased by: his parents, Acie Bennett and Elsie Bennett; his children, Bernard Bennett and Diana Lynn Bennett; his brother Stanley "Babe" Bennett; and his grandson Donald Bennett.
He is survived by: his children, Ralph Edward Bennett-Vlaanderan, Robert Bennett and Judy Charlton; his grandchildren, Ricky Bennett, Donnie Charlton, Jr., Dwayne Charlton, Gabriel Vlaanderan, Diana Feddon, Katherine Bennett-Lenovitz and Meghan Bennett; his great grandchildren, Sophia, Priscilla, Krystal, Sarah, Colby, Joseph, Patrick, Craig, Aaron, Kaleb and Jakob; his great great grandchildren, Zayden, Adalyn and Holden A; his daughter-in-law Patsy Bennett of Mt. Crawford, VA; and his niece Darlene Golsby.
