He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Lee Bland and Ona Bland (Judy); his brother Herman Bland; and his son-in-law James Davis. He is survived by: his children, Tammy Davis of Franklin One and Andy Bland (Julie) of Franklin One; his brother Bryan (Loretha) of Harrisonburg; his grandchildren, Megan Austin (Matt) of Summerville, Laura Meek (Michael) of Chesapeake and Kolton Bland of Franklin One; and his great grandchild Mason Meek.
