He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Porter and Beulah Porter; his son Jonathan Porter; his siblings, Foster, Homer Porter and Clara Porter; and his siblings-in-law, Fred Lucas, Chauncey "Bud" Lucas, Okey "Dwayne" Lucas, Jennings "Dale" Lucas, James Lucas, Allen Lucas, Roger Lucas, Ronald Lucas, Don Martens and Esther Martens.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Porter; his daughter Susan Little (Michael); his grandchildren, Gabriel, Reed, Claire Little, Samuel Porter, Zachary Dial and Erin Richardson (Andrew); his great grandchild Dean Richardson; his niece Kimberly Lucas-Day; his sisters-in-law, Jeanie Lucas, Lula Lucas, Patsy Lucas, Carol Lucas, Peggy Lucas, Billie Lucas and Sharon Lucas; and his daughter-in-law Rebecca Scites. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
