William Edward Akers Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Harold Akers and Julia Hagerman Akers; his wife Drema Akers; his sisters, Diana Chaffins and Ruby Keene; his sisters-in-law, April Akers, Patricia McClanahan and Alma Wheeler; and his parents-in-law, Clarence and Virginia Shelton Brooks.
He is survived by: his constant companions, Little Buddy and Nosy Rosie; his children, Shawn Akers (Tonya) of Harmony, NC, Kristy Bailey (Brian) of Austinville, VA and Angie Akers (Matt Moore) of Princeton, WV; his grandchildren, Nathan Akers (Jazmine) of Harmony, NC, Alissa Smith (Curtis) of Harmony, NC, Will Akers of Harmony, NC, Tanner, Dylan Bailey of Austinville, VA, Timothy, Raylin Blankenship of Princeton, WV, Zane of Harmony, NC, Addilyn of Harmony, NC, Cayden of Harmony, NC, Smith of Harmony, NC and Skylar Akers of Harmony, NC; his niece Marlena Stimson; and his siblings, Johnnie Akers (Josie) of Atwell, WV, Doug Akers of Illinois, Jerry Akers (Julie) of Summerton, SC, Raymond Akers (Tonya) of Summerton, SC, Lana Lambert (Larry) of Harmony, NC, Loretta Duncan (Lint) of Rock, WV, Brenda Hagerman of Tazewell, VA, Carol Stimson (Brian) of Buchannon, WV, Elsie Cowen (Tim) of Summerton, SC, Verdie Shaffer of Oakhill, WV and Diedra Steele (Denny) of Princeton, WV. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Family Worship Center (12645 Marshall Hwy, Jolo, WV 24850). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
