He was predeceased by: his parent Toby Bower; and his siblings, Roger Bower, Randall Bower and Sue Bower Brown. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Smith Bower; his children, Tim Bower (Cindy) of Fairdale and Rhonda Robinson (Brian) of Bolt; his stepchildren, Pam Friend (Les) of California and James Scott (Susana) of Lemont, IL; his siblings, Terry Bower (Diana) of Zebulon, NC and Linda Sears (Vernon) of Bolt; and his grandchildren, Leslie Anne Friend, Zach Friend, Bree Scott, Erik Bower, Becky Scott, Emily Bower Keith and Tyler Carden. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
