He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Severt and Myrtle Smith Severt; and his siblings, Robert Edward Severt, Elaine Cox and Shirley Gardner.
He is survived by: his wife Clara Shields Severt; his children, Stewart Lee Severt, Jr. (Sadie) of Snellville, GA, Cheryl Sarver (David) of Bluefield, VA and Deidra Pennington (Gary) of Roanoke, VA; his grandchildren, Toby, Matthew, Karrie, Kaitlin, Cameron and Allison; his great grandchild Blaine; and his siblings, Arthur Glenn Severt, Jr. of Sandlick, Richard Everette Severt of Sandlick, Clarence Severt of Sandlick, Thelma Comerose of Princeton, WV, Jetty Akers of Bluefield, VA and Wanda Wilburn.
