He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Theodore Gerwig, Sr. and Goldie G. Atkins Gerwig; and his brothers, Jimmy and Otis "Billie". He is survived by: his wife Debbie Gerwig; his children, Roy Lee Gerwig of Bluefield, WV and Jessica Renee Bowman of Bluefield, WV; his sisters, Carolyn, Virginia "Peachy", Janie and Shirley; his grandchildren, Christian, Aidan Bowman, Donovan and Adreanah Gerwig; and his father-in-law Jack Kipfinger. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
