She was predeceased by: her parents, Everett Burton and Annie Nelson Burton; her husband James B. Stowers; her daughter Rhonda Hoge; and her granddaughter Brooke Helmandollar.
She is survived by: her children, James David Stowers of Rocky Gap, VA and Pamela Helmandollar (Mark) of Bluefield, WV; her son-in-law Robert Bruce Hoge; her siblings, Charles Burton of Narrows, VA, Richard Burton of Narrows, VA, Phyllis Hughes of Narrows, VA, Margaret Richardson of Narrows, VA, Wilma Stafford of Narrows, VA and Inez Lester of Narrows, VA; and her grandchildren, Jessica Stowers, Chris Stowers, Jason Hoge and Brandon Hoge.
