It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Minister Alfonzo Dalton Sr. (Bluefield, West Virginia), born in Gary, West Virginia, who passed away on March 21, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Ruby; his daughter Beverly Hayes; and his siblings, Mildred Thomas, Willie, Walter, Ernest, Clarence Dalton and Nettie Thornton.
He is survived by: his children, Katrina Dalton, Alfonzo Jr. (Dora Dalton) of London, Dr. Benjamin (Gale Dalton) of West Bloomfield and Dr. Timothy (Preah Dalton) of Wake Forest; his siblings-in-law, Carroll Kates, Frances White and Sallie Walton; and also Church. He is also survived by loving grandfather to his 17 grandchildren, host of great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church (104 Park St, Bluefield, WV 24701). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Restlawn Memorial Gardens (6605 New Hope Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701).
