He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Glen Perdue and Laura Serena Proffitt Perdue; and his siblings, Doug, Randall, Phyllis, Patricia, Rita, Sue and Glen.

He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Libby" Wert Perdue; his children, Laura Gertrude Poe (Eric) and Barry Lee Perdue (Niki); his siblings, Darlene Toney, Dexter Perdue and Jerry Perdue; his sister-in-law Pansy Hancock; and his cousins, Calvin and Hope Proffitt.
