He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mayo and Ella Dillon Mayo; his wife Sybil Duncan Mayo; his stepmother Betty Mayo; his siblings, Garnet, Samuel, James, Jean Mayo Parker and Carol Sue Mayo; and his half-sister Ann Coffey.
He is survived by: his sons, Mark of Bluefield, WV and Shaun of Beckley, WV; his sisters, Shirley Shrader of Bluefield, VA and Judy Gardner of Staunton, VA; and his half-siblings, Mike of Randleman, NC, Steve of Falls Mills, VA, Charles of Georgia, MD and Brenda Mayo of Bluewell. He is also survived by several grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.
