He is survived by: his parent Ruby Helen Vest Brant; his former wife Anne Fortuna Brant; his siblings, Jack Brant (McCoy), Eugene Brant and Lorraine Sterner Howell (Donald Sterner); his wife Deborah Ann Hager Brant of Bluefield; his children, John David Brant (Jeffry Sowma) of Miami, FL and Sabrina Koja (Sam) of Destin, FL; his stepson Phillip Rumley, Jr.; his children, Kathryn of Phillip, III and Aydin; his stepdaughter Jennifer Rumley; his children, Krista of New Haven, CT. and Marilena of New Haven, CT.; his brother Larry Brant of Wytheville, VA; his sister-in-law Dorothy "Dot" Brant of Concord, NC.; and also, Saffa Koja Sleet (Paul), Saba, Reem, Rashid and Sarah Koja.
