He is survived by: his parents, James Whaling of Eckman and Muriel Foster Whaling of Eckman; his wife Mary Jane; his siblings, Charlie Whaling, Dallas Whaling, Fred Whaling, Carol Whaling and Sylvia Whaling; his daughters, Sandra Elswick (Lee) of Bluefield, VA and Donna McNeil (Tom) of Advance, NC; his grandchildren, Bryan McNeil (Miliette), Chris Elswick (Beth), Bradley McNeil (Yvonne), Todd Elswick, Sarah Elswick and Alison Speas (Austin); his great grandchildren, Bryce Dickerson, Alexandra Elswick, Weston Speas, Myles McNeil and Paisley Speas; and his siblings, Frank Whaling (Shirley) of Martinsville, VA, Mildred Belcher of Princeton, Virgie Musick of Kimball, Eva Schroeter, Ruth Uhalde (Ray) of McLean, VA and Freda Higdon (Bill) of Springfield, VA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends.
