With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Marie Gillenwater of Bluefield, West Virginia, born in McComas, West Virginia, who passed away on January 20, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robie "Jay" Dawson and Blanche G. Hicks; her son William "Gill" Gillenwater Jr.; and her siblings, Vernon Dawson, Tommy Queen, Ronnie Dawson, Barbara Graham and Darlene Dove.
She is survived by: her husband William; her daughters, Brenda Browning (Steve) and Tina Goff (Derrick "JJ" Robinson); her daughter-in-law Becky Gillenwater; and her siblings, John Dawson, Jackie Queen, Bobby Queen, Ronnie Queen, Linda Belcher, Sandra Mongold, Patricia White, Alice Kiser and Debra Meek.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donation be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
