He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Edwin Mitchell and Ruth Elizabeth Sharett Mitchell; his daughter Angela Marie Carbone; and his siblings, Walter William "Bill" Mitchell, Laura Lee Mitchell, Barbara Ann Howlett and Mary Lynn Lane.
He is survived by: his son Harry Thomas Mitchell, Jr.; his brothers, James E. Mitchell of Bluefield and Robert E. Mitchell, Jr. (Jenny) of Nebraska City, NE; and his niece Brenda Mitchell-Haynes (Cheryl) of Antioch, TN. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
